Dear Parents,

The New Year is on its way and before you know it, it will be June.  Here are some good resolutions that I suggest you try in order to help your child improve their study and spiritual habits.

  1. Encourage them to review at least two subjects a day for 15-20 minutes each
  2. Encourage them to read for 20-30 minutes daily and ask them to share something about the story
  3. Encourage them to practice their Math Facts daily
  4. Keep up with their grades on Gradelink and speak to the teacher when there is a missing assignment or failing grade
  5. Have them read a verse from the Bible or say a prayer and take a few minutes to reflect on what it means in their life
  6. Pray a decade of the Rosary together as a Family daily
  7. In this “Year of Mercy” make a plan to do some Corporal or Spiritual Works of Mercy on  a weekly or monthly basis

Corporal Works of Mercy:

  • feed the hungry
  • give drink to the thirsty
  • clothe the naked
  • shelter the homeless
  • visit the sick
  • visit the imprisoned
  • bury the dead

  • counsel the doubtful
  • instruct the ignorant
  • admonish sinners
  • comfort the afflicted
  • forgive offenses
  • bear wrong patiently
  • pray for the living and the dead

* For the upcoming month of February, why don’t we focus on practicing the Spiritual Works of Mercy, love and forgiveness to the difficult people in our lives.

I want to wish all of our families, many blessings in the New Year,

Ms. Fabien

P.S. Reminder parents, crocheting classes continues to take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays during lunchtime
