Welcome to Fourth Grade!

My name is Adela Harrison and I am the fourth grade teacher and vice principal at Holy Spirit/St. Mary Magdalen School.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in Los Angeles but my family is from Jalisco, Mexico. Growing up, I wanted to be a lawyer. However, while completing my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Southern California (Fight on!), I had a change of heart. I started tutoring in elementary schools and decided that I wanted to pursue a career in education. I completed my degree from USC and went on to earn a Masters in Elementary Education from Loyola Marymount University. Soon after, I enrolled at Mt. Saint Mary’s College and earned a Teaching Credential and a Certificate in Instructional Leadership.

I have been extremely blessed here at Holy Spirit/St. Mary Magdalen School. This is my 11th year working in our school and church community. I taught 3rd grade for 4 years and I’m on my 7th year as the 4th grade teacher! It seems just like yesterday that I set foot on our campus!

I’m happily married and have a two year old son and an eight month old daughter. I love my family, friends, students and my job. I am extremely fortunate and blessed.

I look forward to working with my new students and parents. Our school will be open on Monday, August 15th, 2016, between the hours of 8:30 A.M. and 12:30 P.M. At this time, you can drop off your child’s supplies in the classroom.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me at

Thank you,

Adela Harrison
