Glide into Fourth Grade with Mr. Ryan!

2017-2018

My name is Jim Ryan and I am the new fourth grade teacher at Holy Spirit School. I am thrilled to be joining such a close-knit community here at Holy Spirit/St. Mary Magdalene.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA. Growing up, I loved being in the classroom. However, while completing my Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts & Sciences at Penn State University, I decided to move to LA and pursue a career in entertainment. After three years of working in production and talent management, I felt unfulfilled and knew where I truly needed to be. I am currently pursuing my credential and Master’s degree in Elementary and Secondary Education at Loyola Marymount University while teaching at Holy Spirit.

While this will be my first time teaching professionally, this will not be my first experience working with kids at the 4th grade level. I have worked in many after school programs and camps. In fact, in high school, I founded my own after school program at my old Catholic grade school that had over 100 students in enrollment between the ages of 7-13.

I look forward to working with my new students and parents. Our school will be open on Monday, August 13th, 2017, between the hours of 8:30 A.M. and 12:30 P.M. At this time, you can drop off your child’s supplies in the classroom.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me at mr.ryan.holyspirit@gmail.com.

Thank you,

Jim Ryan
