My name is Ms.Nilsson and this will be my 5th year teaching at Holy Spirit School.

I was born and raised in Torrance, California. I grew up loving the beach and having pretty close to perfect weather all year long.  I started playing both softball and volleyball competitively throughout high school and was fortunate enough to continue my volleyball career in college and had the opportunity to play Division I volleyball at the University of California, Riverside. There I earned my Bachelor degree in Liberal Studies.  After taking a few upper division elementary school classes, I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in teaching.  I then attended Cal State University, Long Beach where I earned my multiple subject credential.  I decided to further my education, and in 2015 earned my Masters in Education from Mount Saint Mary’s University.

When I am not teaching I enjoy going to the beach, watching movies, and coaching volleyball. I have coached both girls and boys volleyball for the past 10 years and love sharing my knowledge and passion for the game.  During the summer I really enjoy having the opportunity to work and travel around to different  high schools all over the country to run summer volleyball camps.

I taught Kindergarten  for the past four years, and even though I will miss the younger children, I am very excited to be moving upstairs and teaching second grade for the first time. I am looking forward to working with these super second graders of mine to help encourage their creativity, strengthen their work ethic and help promote independence.

Can’t wait to meet all of you!
